Those looking to start this business the easy way need to watch out for scams. Many promoters promise their victims quick recovery of the initial investment in software, training and technical support, they even offer a list of potential clients. The unscrupulous advertisers often give assurance that no experience is required, that they will provide clients eager to buy your service, or that their qualified salespeople will find clients for you.
The price for such “goods” may be as high as $10,000.
However, their victims find out that the lists are outdated, the software is not functional, the support is ineffective, or the training is not sufficient. In such cases, the money is lost and the victims are advised to complain to Federal Trade Commission (FTC Facts, 2002).
